Hi! I’m Banu

Who am I…. I’m a mother of two wonderful girls who have shaped me into who I am today. Born and raised in Singapore, I developed a deep love for Asian cuisine. My passion for cooking began with my journey towards healthy eating, which became even more important during my pregnancy. Wanting the best start for my children, I focused on nourishing my body with the right foods. Exploring Ayurveda deepened my understanding of the balance—between cravings and my body’s needs—transforming the way I eat and live.

Why I started this… When I moved to Melbourne, Australia, I realised that access to postpartum food and services was quite limited. Having experienced the wonderful benefits of having postpartum food specially prepared for me (Pathiya food), I began to strongly believe that is something every new mother should have access to.  I wanted to create a postpartum service for people like me who gravitate towards Asian food during their postpartum journey.

What makes me qualified… As a trained social worker, I naturally gravitated towards supporting young mothers. This led me to become a lactation counselor. Common issues like low milk supply, blocked ducts, and engorgement highlighted the crucial role of nutrition. My understanding of Ayurveda revealed that food could be both the problem and the solution. Applying these principles postpartum, I saw rapid improvements in my health, mood, and energy. Ever since, I’ve integrated Ayurvedic wisdom into my family’s meals.
